Manufacturers of heavy duty parts depend on the advanced fabrication capabilities at S&R, Inc. to supply their precision cut components. A customer in the heavy machinery industry contracted us to manufacture the parts highlighted here, which would be utilized in the construction of their equipment. 3/8” A572 hot rolled steel was manipulated with laser cutting and forming processes to meet the configurations as outlined on the supplied 2D CAD drawings. Work was carried out utilizing our state-of-the-art CNC Lasers and our 12’ x 175’ ton Press Brake. Final dimensions of the parts were 65” in length, 16” in width, and 21” in height. The tightest tolerances of ±0.005” were achieved during cutting, with a tolerance of ±3° met during forming.

Turnaround time for this project was 2 to 3 weeks for this Kentucky customer. Upon receipt of the base components, the customer then performs welding and further machining to create the finished assembly.
